We take great pride in farming without the use of commercial synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or silage feed. Instead, we rely on pasture grazing and seasonal alpine transhumance. During the summer months, our livestock spends time on high alpine pastures above 2,000 meters. There, our experienced alpine cheesemaking team produces our distinctive raw milk alpine cheese. In winter, the animals are fed high-quality hay, which we harvest by hand during summer on our own meadows. This approach allows us to keep transport distances short and maintain a closed-loop feed system.

The Alpine region is one of the few near-natural ecosystems in Europe, home to a rich and complex biodiversity. Centuries of traditional land use and the careful management of meadows, forests, and alpine pastures have shaped a unique cultural landscape with an exceptional variety of animal and plant species. Through our daily work, we mountain farmers contribute significantly to the sustainable development and well-kept appearance of the beautiful Alpine landscape.

Milk is the main product of the Hauser Organic Farm Dairy. It comes exclusively from our own farm. Our cows – including Tyrolean Grey and Original Brown Swiss graze on our pastures and are fed hay that is dried directly in the field after mowing. For our raw milk cheese, we use only fresh milk from our own cows. Thanks to the gentle, artisanal production methods, the milk’s valuable nutrients are preserved. In our cheese cellar, the semi-hard cheeses are carefully tended every day until, after months of ripening, they develop their full flavor. Our selection includes a variety of semi-hard cow’s milk cheeses as well as our alpine cheese.
